If you are new to providing data to Europeana when you log into the system for the first time you will see a red button on your Models homepage labelled "Sign DEA Agreement".
You will need to sign this agreement to give CARARE the permissions that it needs to provide your metadata record to Europeana. The main principles of this agreement are that:
Your metadata records will be published as open data under the Creative Commons Zero Public Domain Dedication (CC0).
Each of your 3D models (including the preview images used in search results) will carry a rights statement that describes its copyright status and the permitted uses.
When you click on the red button, the data agreement will appear in a pop-up window. You can scroll the document to read through the details of the agreement. If you have any questions about the agreement, please contact CARARE by emailing info@carare.eu. When you are ready you should:
1) enter these details into the form: name of your organisation, its postal address, the URL of its websites, the name of the person who is authorised to sign the agreement on its behalf, their role in the organisation and work email address; and then
2) scroll to the bottom of the form and enter the name of the authorised representative into the signature box (see below).
When you have completed entering your details into the form, and have signed the agreement click on submit.
The signed agreement is sent to CARARE. Once the DEA has been signed and verified you will be able to begin submitting metadata records to Europeana.
If your organisation has previously signed a DEA with Europeana, contact info@carare.eu to let us know.
